What's this about?

Are you a curious person? If you like solving problems, carrying out investigations and enjoy Sciences at GCSE or A level you could think about a career in a science subject.
For example you may be working in laboratories analysing samples for the NHS or water quality for the Environment Agency. Scientific research can have a huge impact on our lives such as finding a new universe, new ways of identifying disease or new drugs to cure illnesses.
If you chose to go to university you could study a new science subject such as marine biology, archaeology or astronomy. If you have an interest in a specific part of your degree you could carry out your own research by undertaking a qualification called a PhD. This usually takes three years and usually requires a lot of patience carrying out experiments.
