New energy

What's this about?

From tidal barrages to nuclear energy, wind turbines to solar panels and bio fuels - new ways of generating energy are being found to replace oil and gas and to combat global warming.

These new projects are leading to a massive explosion in jobs. National Grid estimates that by 2050, 400,000 roles will need to be filled to meet increased demand for renewable energy production, with 260,000 of these being entirely new jobs.

One energy project can require people with a range of jobs from; ecologists, planners and project managers to engineers, accountants and even helicopter pilots. You could work outdoors on land or at sea, in an office or in a laboratory and may have the chance to travel or work abroad.
