Resources for subject teachers explained
The Careerpilot Team, all of whom are qualified career advisers and teachers, have developed a set of careers resources to support teachers to make the link from their subject area to related careers, helping to meet Gatsby Benchmark 4. Resources for subject teachers include:
- Careers slides for subject teachers that may be used as a quick careers activity or starter in a subject lesson to make the link to relevant careers, courses and apprenticeships related to the subject and how to research them further on Careerpilot.
- KS4-5 booklet which covers 22 different subject areas, each with a one-pager with top tips for supporting students to research careers related to each subject. This includes links to videos of people talking about careers related the subject area, examples of higher education courses, information about related apprenticeships and links to further study and TED talks to build understanding.
- A set of posters for 21 subjects showing where an interest in each subject may lead in the future, with examples of post 16 and 18 pathways and future related to careers.
