Latest News About Apprenticeships

In May 2022, the Government announced some key changes being introduced from August 2022. Several improvements are being made which will apply to people of all ages including:

Making sure all apprentices receive the same amount of on-the job training

A more standardised approach will be in place to make sure all apprentices complete a minimum of 6 off the job training hours each week.

Making it easier for people to complete apprenticeships more quickly

If you have already gained certain qualifications, skills or experience, the rules are being  strengthened so that you won’t need to redo previous learning that is part of your apprenticeship.

Removing the requirement for thousands of apprentices to have to take Level 2 English and maths tests

You will now be able to complete your Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship without it being compulsory to take a Level 2 English and maths test.
